The start of something big, or at least, The Start. Today we received our FAA Air Carrier Certificate almost two and one-half years after submitting an application. This marks the end of the application process and the beginning of operations.

When I first started, I felt lost.  I did not understand the overall process from a procedural standpoint.  I understood the FAA’s “gate process” – an application only moves forwards if all requirements of a particular step are met.  But procedurally, it was like walking in the dark.  It is easy to understand a person’s frustration with the process, having been through it (now twice).
